Don't Let the Pressure Fool You
Professional Soft Washing Services in the Piedmont Triad
Soft washing is a cleaning method that uses low pressure along with a specialized cleaning solution to safely kill and remove mold, mildew, bacteria, algae and other organic growth from building exteriors. All major asphalt roofing and vinyl siding manufacturers recommend soft washing as the preferred method for cleaning asphalt roofs and vinyl
siding.
Soft Washing can be used on surfaces that are notoriously hard to clean with pressure alone. Many surfaces can be damaged if high pressure were to be used on them. Siding, roof shingles, window screens and painted surfaces, can all be easily damaged with pressurized water.
The biodegradable chemicals we use make soft washing the environmentally responsible choice. Soft washing, because of its long-lasting clean, allows a surface to stay clean with less frequent visits from us, meaning less water and less chemicals will be used to maintain your property’s cleanliness.
Soft washing revolutionized the roof and exterior cleaning industry by allowing carefully metered chemical solutions to be applied to building surfaces for the benefit of cleaning that surface without pressure.
Our Soft Wash Solution
- Water. The majority of our soft wash solution is water. The amount of water is dependent on the surface being cleaned. Generally, between (94% and 99%).
- Sodium Hypochlorite. This is the active ingredient in bleach. It removes and inhibits the regrowth of mold and mildew spores, algae, moss, lichen and any other plants or fungi growing on your home. The amount of Sodium Hypochlorite is precisely metered for the job at hand. Our mix generally includes Sodium Hypochlorite from 0.75% for House Washing to 6% for Roof Cleaning.
- Surfactants. Surfactants are soaps that allow our cleaning solution to stick to the surface to which it is applied, for a longer period of time. We use two surfactants in our mix. One is called AppleWash and the other is Elemonator. There are only trace amounts of these surfactants, (less than 0.025%).
For Cleaning That Can Handle the Pressure
At Renaissance Renovations, our trained technicians know exactly which surfaces can handle which type of power cleaning. While we use soft washing for siding, roof shingles, window screens and painted surfaces, we choose pressure washing for surfaces that can withstand highly-pressurized water. These include driveways, gutters, sidewalks, parking lots, brick walls and certain patios, decks and fences. We can discuss which method best suits your cleaning needs during your free instant quote.
